Heavy Vehicle Inspection Scheme set to create more jobs

After 40 years advocating for mandatory vehicle inspections the MTA is pleased to announce the government has released procurement documents for a mandatory heavy vehicle inspection scheme and is calling on interested parties to tender to deliver the scheme.

This is a welcome outcome for the automotive industry and one that will also save lives. The scheme is also expected to create up to 100 full time jobs.

Department of Planning, Transport and Infrastructure (DPTI) is currently compiling a register of businesses who wish to deliver inspection services. MTA members received a News Alert last month with details on the tender and registration process. You can access the News Alert by clicking here which includes links to the relevant tender documents and MTA contact details if you wish to participate.

The tender deadline for entities wanting to submit their interest in forming a relationship with businesses to deliver inspection services is 22 February, with inspections commencing 1 July.
