Automotive Industry Group Apprentice Awards night.

On December 5, Field Officer Franco Albuino attended the Automotive Industry Group Apprentice Awards Night, which was held at The Lakes, Mount Gambier with 170 people in attendance.

It was great to see the Automotive Industry Group organise such an event where automotive competitors unite as one to celebrate the achievements of their outstanding apprentices.

MTA trained apprentice Jordan Mansell, hosted at OGR Trucks was a joint winner of the Heavy Vehicle 3rd Year Apprentice Award.

Jordan always displays a fantastic work ethic, attitude and he has also demonstrated great mechanical aptitude. He has a genuine passion for all things automotive and Jordan is held in high regard by his peers and his skill level is well beyond that of a 3rd year apprentice, with his trade school results over the past 12 months averaging 92%. This makes Jordan a valuable member of the OGR Trucks team.

MTA trained apprentice Jason Smith, also hosted at OGR Trucks was awarded the Most Outstanding Student – Industry Placement Award.

While at Naracoorte High School, Jason consistently displayed enthusiasm towards his work. Jason balanced his school, VET and work experience commitments efficiently, which enabled him to complete all assigned work. Actively pursuing work placements has got Jason well and truly over the line and after attending an MTA presentation on the 19th of October 2017 at the South East Automotive Skills Centre, he secured work experience at OGR Trucks which then resulted in a full time apprenticeship.
