The MTA Training and Employment Centre based at Royal Park, South Australia, is the largest industry based training facility in South Australia.

The Harold Shipp Workshop

This Workshop was constructed in 2009/10 and was part funded by the Federal Government. The facilities boast both light vehicle and heavy vehicle workshops with the following features:
  •    A 15 meter ventilated truck pit fitted with a  fully ducted ventilation system
  •     8 overhead vehicle hoists
  •     an all wheel drive 1200 dynometer
  •     a 4-bay drive facility for semi and B-double trailers for repairs and maintenance
  •     additional training areas to expand our post-trade training including hybrid and electric vehicles.
The construction took the environment into consideration with the inclusion of a 100kW solar power system and a 250,000 litre concrete underground rainwater tank which is plumbed to our wash bay area for vehicle detailing.

Paint and Panel Workshops

The MTA has a dedicated Paint work shop with two bake over spray booths. We also have a paint storage and mixing room. All areas come with the appropriate ventilation and safety features.

Our panel workshop comes fully stocked with all the equipment needed for fabrication and assembly of vehicle bodies.  The workshop includes a 10-bay welding area for welding and fabrication training which is essential.

Smart Classrooms

Our classrooms come with SmartBoard technology enabling our trainers to offer interactive lessons.

Training Aids

The MTA has all training aids needed to provider relevant and current training. We have good relationships with many manufacturers and appreciate the support offered and donation of vehicles, engines and other parts to help us provide our training.
