THE Federal Parliamentary Secretary for Health and Member for Port Adelaide, Hon. Mark Butler MP, today was the first person to officially drive South Australia's first plug-in electric Toyota Prius.

Mr Butler, who has been instrumental in the MTA securing Federal funding of $1.359M for the Training Centre's new Heavy Vehicle Workshop tested the vehicle on site at Royal Park.

THE 84th Annual General meeting was a significant event on the Association’s calendar with more than 100 people attending this year’s event held at new state-of-the-art Heavy Vehicle Workshop, Royal Park  on 20 July 2010.

This year more than 100 graduates were presented with their Trade Certificates, and a further 14 were presented with Achievement Awards, at the annual Award Ceremony held at AAMI Stadium (West Lakes) on Tuesday 25 May 2010.

MTA-GTS Chairman, Mr Colin Clark welcomed The Honourable Jack Snelling MP – Minister for Employment, Training and Further Education, Minister for Science & Information Economy, Minister for Road Safety, Minister for Veterans’ Affairs before offering congratulations to each of the graduates.

 

“I feel confident that we have provided you with the tools to succeed in the Motor Trade. The future is in your hands,” Mr Clark said.

THE 13th annual tarmac rally, Classic Adelaide attracted six international crews and entries from every Australian state and territory (although most entrants were from South Australia), all taking part in what has become a South Australian tradition.

And part of the tradition includes the provision of roadside assistance by the MTA-GTS motorsport repair team to the crews and their classic vehicles.

THE GOVERNOR OF SOUTH AUSTRALIA,  Rear Admiral Kevin Scarce AC CSC RANR visted the MTA's Group Training Scheme at Royal Park on 19 November 2009.

The Governor is the patron of Group Training Australia and MTA-GTS as a member works closely to ensure the ongoing promotion of group training to community and government leaders.
